Trail / Access

GMNF has closed the AT/LT Rootville Bridge at the end of Rootville Road at the Lye Brook Wilderness Boundary due to a failed abutment. An inspection of the structure will determine a long-term solution. In the meantime, this is a fairly easy rock hop with steep scrambles on the banks on both sides of the stream.

Wondering why events have a date but not a time or exact location?
We have chosen not to publish exact times and locations for most of our events to facilitate a quick chat between the event leader and the participants about equipment, experience, and the relative difficulty of the event. Being in touch before hand also makes it easier for us to cancel or reschedule in the event of rain. All of the event leaders are friendly people who will be glad to hear from you, we promise!
